Bohemian Coastal Vintage Style Home - Gold Coast

Image
This gorgeous home belongs to beautiful IG friend Suzette @coconut_cabin.  She was kind enough to let me take some photos of her gorgeous quirky, bohemian vintage style home located in the Gold Coast hinterland.  At first, she couldn't understand why I wanted to photograph & blog about her home.  Come take a peep and find out why. Suz has been a collector of beautiful old things for many years and as you will see she has created a home filled with a love of colour, vintage, nautical and many trinkets of the sea. At the front door you are welcomed with a hello sign, glass insulators & old glass bottles being used as vases. Don't they look stunning in the afternoon light? As soon as I spotted this Hawaiian lady at the entrance I knew it was going to be a fun house to visit and be filled with all the things that I love.  The driftwood mirror is just above the old bottles at the entrance and you can see Suz just below a fabulous crab pot that she has decorated with remnants o…

Wooden Fishing Reels

Image
As of last week we sold out of old wooden lobster pot buoys from Maine. However, we do have more on the way and there are a couple of stripy ones left from Florida.
So it was time to change the lobster pot wall into the wooden fishing reel wall! We seemed to have collected quite a few over the last year and believe it or not....there are more.  However, I'm going to keep a few and when I visit the glass cutter next week to have an old porthole glass (broken) replaced with a mirror, I will see if they can do some reels too.  I got this idea from this image published last year in an Australian edition of the Home Beautiful magazine. Looks fabulous doesn't it?
Many of the old wooden reels are listed on our website with many more being added in the coming weeks. If you like this idea and would like me to collate a few reels for you, please don't hesitate to email hello@coastalvintage.com.au
